Club Nautico de Santo Domingo is located north of Caucedo Port, near Dominican Republic’s capital of Santo Domingo, where you can immerse yourself in the country’s culture. The historic center, called Colonial City, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring the first cathedral in the Americas. The Malecón seafront promenade becomes animated especially at night. There are a few beaches close to the marina, and halfway between Santo Domingo and La Romana you’ll find the beach towns of Guayacanes and Juan Dolio. Further on, tourists can visit Centro Histórico Ron Barceló in the city of San Pedro de Macorís. Here is a museum-store that tells the history of rum-making in the Dominican Republic. The Cave of the Wonders is located west of La Romana, having some of the best examples of indigenous Taino rock art, with around 500 paintings and engravings of human and animal figures. A short sail from La Romana is Catalina Island, with wide sandy beaches and great snorkeling spots.
