OneOcean Port Vell<\/span><\/a>, Barcelona\u2019s superyacht marina, has been announced as the host of the 2017 MYBA Charter Show, one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to charter professionals and superyachts. Other contenders were Nice and Genoa, host for the past 16 years. The show will run from April 24 to April 26 along Port Vell\u2019s four quays: Spanish Quay, Barceloneta Quay, Deposit Quay and Sota Muralla Quay.<\/p>\n

MYBA President Fiona Maureso took the opportunity to thank Pesto Sea Group, the organizers of the past 16 editions, and said that in awarding the Charter Show to Barcelona MYBA took into account the marina\u2019s favorable location, just 25 min away from the airport, and the fact that the city is a perfect base from which to explore the coastline. \u201cFrom the short-list of venues, OneOcean Port Vell came out on top. Furthermore, MYBA hope that bringing the Show to Barcelona will further speed up and enhance any progress in opening up the charter market and regulations in these attractive cruising grounds,\u201d added \u00a0James Graham-Cloete, Chair of the MYBA Charter Shows Panel.<\/p>\n

OneOcean Port Vell will host the next three editions of the MYBA Charter Show. It was re-launched in 2015 following a multi-million dollar investment and is described by General Manager Paul Cook as contemporary, sophisticated and cosmopolitan. Cook thanked MYBA for their confidence and said that Barcelona is a prominent superyacht destination with unrivalled marina facilities and infrastructure. \u201cThis, combined with the easing of legislation on Spanish charters, which has had a positive impact on the demand for chartering and cruising in the region, ensures that OneOcean Port Vell and MYBA are optimally positioned to deliver the next evolution of this event in 2017 and beyond,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview for Marina Reservation, Paul Cook, General Manager of OneOcean Port Vell<\/a><\/span>, said that one of his goals is always being up to date with the latest developments in terms of facilities, thus creating the ultimate destination for luxury yachts. \u201cThe marina\u2019s design and concept evolved from extensive consultation with captains, crew members and owners to get every detail right, from crew facilities, restaurant design to the full range of concierge facilities offered,\u201d Cook added.
