Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor, Kauai, United States

Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor is located two miles west of the Waimea River mouth and close to the town of Kekaha on the southwestern shore of Kauai. Kikiaola is the gateway to the stunning Na Pali coast, as the only road to this paradise is a trail that crosses five valleys and ends at the secluded Kalalau Beach. A long sandy starts at Kekaha Beach Park and goes all the way to Polihale State Park on the western coast. From here you can hike through the lush Puu Pa Pele forest to get to Waimea Canyon Lookout, from where you’ll be able to see this “Grand Canyon of the Pacific” in all its glory. This vantage point is also accessible from Kekaha, through Kokee Road which then takes you to the observation decks at Puu Hinahina and Kalalau, with unobstructed views of the Pacific. Awa’awapuhi Trail is located in Koke’e State Park on the northwest side of Kauai, offering sweeping views of the Na Pali coast. The island also offers a variety of activities, such as mountain tubing, zip-lining, off-road exploring by 4x4 or ATV.
