The neighborhood

Bringsinghaug is located in Møre og Romsdal.

“The home of the Norwegian Mountains” – An island of tranquility in an ocean of agitation. Situated in the furthest north part of western Norway, this marvelous region is a natural display of the paradise that Norway offers. The county name was created in 1936 initially the area being called “Romsdalen Amt.” The name was influenced by the word Mœrr (Møre) which describes the area’s proximity to Ocean or Sea.

Møre og Romsdal is a marvelous region to visit for any tourist. With countless attractions and cultural landmarks, this county will astonish everyone interested in Norway’s historical heritage. The Norangsdalen Valley is one of the community’s gems and is an important part of the ecosystem. The valley stretches between mountain peaks that blocked the old river a long time ago and formed a fantastic lake at the very end. Here you can still see remains of the old road that lead through the mountains.

The county is composed of 10 municipalities, the largest being Ålesund, Molde, and Kristiansund. These magnificent areas are considered to be the beating heart of the region with numerous touristic attractions, ecological parks, and historical landmarks.

Ålesund is positioned right on the Hardangerfjord and is also known as “The world’s best destination.” The most popular area in this municipality is Runde, also known as “The bird island”. With more than 500,000 birds and just over 200 species, this wildlife retreat is a spectacular sight.

Molde is considered to be the sports capital of this area, the soccer champions of Norway calling this city home. Molde FK plays in the famous arena called Aker Stadion. Guided tours of this marvelous place can be booked, and you can visit the trophy room, the locker rooms and even set foot on the pitch.

Kristiansund is located on the western side of Norway’s coastline and is the cultural jewel of Møre og Romsdal. The architecture here is unique as the city was demolished during World War II and reconstructed in a modern style in 1948. The most important landmark that resisted the test of time and war is Kristiansund Opera House – The oldest establishment of its kind in all of Norway and one of the few buildings that escaped the bombing during World War II.
