Hythe Quay

Hythe Quay is situated in Maldon, at the western end of the Blackwater estuary in Essex, England. The Quay is home for beautifully restored old barges which are now used for leisure purposes, birdwatching trips, sightseeing trips and parties. The visitors of the marina can see along the quayside a large collection of these vessels. Around the quay are found a couple of pubs where visitors can enjoy the views while having drinks and food. The Queens Head is one of the two public houses in The Hythe, found on the quay. The place is a known to be a great pub with welcoming friendly atmosphere. The second public house is called the Jolly Sailor, a pleasing 17th century pub, where visitors can also enjoy refreshments, dine in and spend the night at. A landmark in town is St Mary's church, a building founded during the Saxon period and rebuilt in the early 12th century. Maldon is adequately located to offer an ideal settlement for exploring the region of East Anglia.
