Laboe

Laboe marina is situated in Kiel Fjord, in the municipality with the same name part of the district of Plon. The port is a beautiful combination of fishing port and modern marina which will dazzle its guests. In close proximity of Laboe centre, visitors can savour a rural but modern location, great for relaxing and enjoying a quiet vacation. Tourists can also travel from the marina inside the fjord to the city of Kiel or out onto the Baltic Sea. Laboe is also home to the last surviving U-boat submarine from World War II, arranged as a museum where visitors can enter the boat and explore the way German sailors used to live during the war days. The Laboe Naval Memorial is also an attraction of the area, built to commemorate the First World War deaths, rededicated later to all the sailors of all nationalities who died during both wars. The monument offers tourists also an 85 metre tall observation deck where they can have a great panorama of the surroundings.
