St. Martin

St. Martin Marina is located in the Cul-de-Sac bay, between Orient Bay – the most popular beach on the island – and Grand Case – its gastronomic capital. With its relaxed tropical setting, this former fishing village is an ideal place for those wanting to spend a quiet vacation. Since it’s not that developed, tourists can still find here beaches like Grand Cayes where they can pretend they’re on a deserted island. Popular with boaters and providing great views over St. Barths, Cul-de-Sac bay has a small beach and there are also regular boat rides to the islets of Pinel and Petit Clef, with a rich and diverse flora and fauna. The much larger and developed beach of Orient Bay lies immediately to the west, offering 3.2 km of white sand protected from the Atlantic waves by a reef. The area has been recognized as a marine reserve, so it’s an incredible place for snorkeling. Other places of interest nearby are an Arawak village built in 500 BCE and a museum showcasing the island’s colonial history.
