Strande

Strande known also as Strande Hafen is a marina in the municipality with the same name, on the west bank of Kiel Fjord, in Schleswig Holstein Region. The port is a natural harbour protected from the wind from all sides. The beach by the marina is a great place for the port guests to enjoy a sun bath or practice water sports. In the summer, this area is a stopping point for passenger ships and ferries. The bay between Strande Hafen and Olympiahafen Schilksee is a well-known diving spot of the area. Tourists can take a trip to Kiel city centre from here by car where they can enjoy more cultural activities than in this part of town. They can choose from a vast array of museums like zoological, geological, historical, fine art, industrial, and military museums, most notable is the City and Maritime Museum, with exhibits of architecture from 16th century to cultural shows from the 19th and 20th century.
