Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be held this year between 16-21 August in its traditional location, Pebble Beach, California. This is one of the most illustrious automotive events worldwide and the great thing about it is that it’s being organized for charitable purpose. Vintage automobiles dating back to the postwar period and earlier take part in this yearly competition.

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is both literally and practically a ‘contest of elegance’ that features some of the most eye-catching collection automobiles. The competition has a long tradition that started back in 1950. The automobiles are classified in different categories according to criteria like manufacturer, construction date, nationality. Unlike most car contest, this one doesn’t award speed. The prizes go out to those vehicles that excel in authenticity, functionality, historical value or style.

Some of this year’s marques and categories are Castagna Coachwork, Ferrari Major Race Winners, Isotta Fraschini, American Dream Cars of the 1960s.

This edition of the esteemed regatta will take place this year between the 21th of August and the 29th of August. The vessels joining the competition will embark on a fabulous journey around the Isle of Beauty – ‘L’Ile de Beauté’, which wasn’t named so by coincidence.
Each year, the Corsica Classic brings together some of the most impressive heritage sailing yachts that wonder in the warm Mediterranean waters for two glorious weeks.

A total of 35 classic vessels from countries like Monaco, Italy, USA, France, England, Spain, , Switzerland, or Germany announced their participation. The sailing route includes some of the most emblematic landmarks surrounding the Isle of Beauty like Ajaccio, Les Moines, the Gulf of Valinco, Palombaggia, the Sanguinaire Island, Bonifacio, the Lavezzi Islands. For the second time, this regatta extends its sailing route, including Bastia and St. Florent in its schedule, during the second week of the rally.

Like each year, the competition’s organizer, Yacht Club France, aim to offer participants a thrilling and elegant yachting experience. Corsica Classic is included in the circuit patronized by CIM (International Mediterranean Committee) and AFYT (French Association of Classic Yachts). This implies that all the vessels that want to take part in the contest require the CIM approval.  This year, yachts which have the IRC approval can also enroll in the ‘Esprit de tradition’ class. Another novelty for the 8th edition of the regatta is that Corsica Classic launched an official collaboration with the sailing school Les Glénans.

This competition features some of the most elegant classic yachts in a friendly and laid-back atmosphere to the delight of participants and yachting fans alike. Corsica’s amazing landscape and the favorable weather conditions turn this contest into one of the most popular sailing events of the summer.
