British Kiel Yacht Club (BKYC)

British Kiel Yacht Club (BKYC) is a port in Friedrichsort district of Kiel, in Schleswig-Holstein. The marina club has been created as a Training Centre for Adventurous Training which offers its members and guests’ offshore sailing courses, diving lessons and power boating advanced courses. Access to it can be done by motorway or airport. The district has a few landmarks like remnants of Christianspris or Friederiksort, a fortress built by the Danish King Christian IV in 1631 at Kiel Fjord’s narrowest point to protect the Danish city of Kiel from the German troops during the 30-years war. Friedrichsort Lighthouse a 31 metre tall beacon, close to the foundation of its older version that became too small to use. Beach lovers can also enjoy the beach area of the district with its long stretch of sandy shores where people from Kiel come to relax.
