Seglerverein Leer is a marina in the town and district of Leer, Lower Saxony, and a member of the German Sailing Federation. Located on Leda River, tributary to Ems, the city is 20 kilometres away from the Dutch border by car, while sailors can travel to the Netherlands by boat. Leer has to offer its visitors some interesting landmarks such as Harderwykenburg, one of the oldest remaining castles in East Frisia, built in the 1450’s, Haneburg, one of Germany’s last remaining castles from the Renaissance era, Evenburg, a neo-gothic water castle or Phillipsburg Castle.. As for events, tourists stopping by in the port during autumn can visit Gallimarkt, a cattle-market and one of the largest fairs in Northwest Germany.
