Moorage in Vrboska. What a cute little town! We loved it . Cigarette butts everywhere, at every ACI Marina we visited!! It would be really great if ACI Marinas would run an ongoing educational campaign for all their visitors to make them aware that cigarette butts are litter that does not biodegrade and hurts sea life. The beauty of the Adriatic, its beaches, and the marinas is critical to maintaining the beauty of this place. ACI Marinas are in an important position to educate their thousands of customers that cigarettes are trash and should not be thrown on the sidewalk or into the ocean. We also had a huge yacht that parked right behind us and blocked our view of the water. That was disappointing.

Hvar is a fabulous display of beautiful surroundings and cozy towns. This picturesque island has been inhabited since ancient times by the Greeks. The safest and oldest port on the island, Stari Grad is a testimony of those times. The town of Stari Grad started being inhabited by Greeks around the year 300 BC. The remains of their civilization are today exhibited in the Stari Grad Museum, which, in its turn, is a piece of architectonic jewelry. Another attraction in Stari Grad is the Tvrdalj, a formidable fortified residence built in the Renaissance style by the poet Peter Hektorović.

The other main attraction on the island is the town of Hvar where you can visit numerous historical sites. The landmark of the town is the great 16th century fortress overlooking it. If you climb up there, do take your camera as the panoramic view is spectacular. Hvar's cathedral, the theater, the Franciscan and Dominica monasteries are other must-see spots of this emblematic medieval town.

The fun never ceases in Hvar. If you're here to party, you'll find it hard to choose a place because there are far too many options. So, book a berth in Hvar, leave your vessel in good hands and rush to one of the following clubs in the town of Hvar: Pink champagne, Carpe Diem, Veneranda,  If all you want is a cold beer and a snack, in a fancy or laidback atmosphere, check out some of Hvar's best bars such as Hula Hula Beach Bar, Atelier, Archie's Bar, Kiva.

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, there are plenty places to go to. Apart from its urban settlements, the island is a quiet stretch of land covered by pine trees and lavender fields. The villages on the island will welcome you in their traditional tavernas. A genuine experience you can enjoy here is the celebration of the patron's day in Humac.

Natural beauty never ceases to impress in Hvar. The beaches here are bathed by crystal-clear waters, in idyllic locations. Some of the best beache sin Hvar are Dubovnica (located near Stari Grad), Lucisca (close to Sveta Nedjelja, considered one of the most beautiful on the island), Grebisce (in Jesla, a popular sandy beach), the gravel beaches in Milna, Zavala, Ivan Dolac, the beaches in Hvar (Amfora, Sirena), the secluded beaches in Brusje.

Another attraction you should visit is the Grapčeva špilja, one of the most impressive caves in the Mediterranean. This cave dates back since the Neolitic age and, inside, you can admire intricate stalactites and stalagmites. The place where you can depart from in order to reach this cave with an organized tour is the lovely town of Jelsa. Here, you can also stop for some sightseeing and a nice lunch at the local restaurants or tavernas.

Hvar's cuisine includes numerous fish recipes, accompanied by tasty side dishes. The fresh local products, nice ambience of waterfront restaurants and select wines will make each dinner in Hvar truly special. There is one dish you shouldn't miss out on if you visit the island of Hvar: gregada. This typical dish is a fish stew, enhanced with the finest and freshest vegetables: onions, olives, garlic and potatoes.

Hvar is an ideal destination for adventure seekers. Once your boat is safely anchored in one of the marinas in Hvar, you can begin your quest for adrenaline. A diving session is a must-do and there are numerous locations around Hvar where you can indulge in this passion. One of the best experiences is diving at the wreck of the ship Paulina.
