Le Marin is a French commune situated in the Martinique department, a French overseas territory in the Caribbean Sea. Le Martin is the main administrative point in the Southern part of the island. Le Marin is one of the oldest establishments in the Martinique. The first historical written evidence that referred to Le Martin date back in the middle of the 17th century. The place developed from a small village home to less than 200 inhabitants. Le Marin was a frequent target for British attacks, and it was destroyed in 1673, but rebuilt by the beginning of the 18th century.
